Read More Crestone Museum -New Location “The Crestone Museum and Welcome Center will be open this summer Saturday 10-4 / Sunday 10-4 / Tuesday through Thursday 1-4 The   museum   is   located   in   the   Old   Crestone   Schoolhouse   on   the   NE   corner   of   Cottonwood Street   and   Carbonate   Avenue.   The   Schoolhouse   was   built   in   1881   and   is   the   only   building   in Crestone     on     the     National     Register     of     Historic     Places.     Aside     from     displays     on Mining,Ranching,   Schooling,   Home   Life,   Mountaineering,   and   Spiritual   Centers,   we   have   a comfortable   sitting   area   where   visitors   can   read   reference   books   relating   to   Crestone   and   the San   Luis   Valley.   The   Gift   Shop   sells   some   of   these   books,   has   maps   and   guidebooks   for                                               planning   your   visit,   and   also   memorabilia   and   Crestone   merchandise   to   take   back   to   the   folks at home."
